History

The Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Medical Center was duly organized and registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission on August 19, 1999, as a domestic family corporation located at Km 78 McArthur Hi-way, Barangay Saguin, City of San Fernando, Pampanga, a place now booming with sprawling commercial establishments and subdivisions.

The hospital was founded in honor of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Medical Center whose mission is to be of service to mankind in the field of medical services for the greater glory of God. The medical center is operating as a tertiary hospital with a 150-bed capacity equipped with the latest state-of-the-art medical instruments and facilities. The full operation started on July 16, 2001, with the only hospital of its kind with personalized medical services consistently being initiated by Engr. Adrian R. Briones, Chairman and Hospital Administrator, and Dr. Monet Bustos-Briones, President and Medical Director respectively.

Its mission is based on the humanitarian spirit of providing quality service through healthcare facilitation, education, and promotion. It envisions itself to be the best in the medical field by providing the collaborative delivery of its services with utmost compassion and care. It is committed in its mission “to fully satisfy our patients with all COMPASSION, COMPETENCE, and CHEERFULNESS united in service as a family” and the vision “to become a world-class hospital within the reach of everyone.”

Through the years, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Medical Center has been continuously improving its service and facilities. For this reason, it has received many citations, awards, and commendations from a private individual who experienced the Carmel way of serving its patients; from being ISO certified 9001-2000 – Quality Management System from the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) and from Philhealth as being consistently one of the best of medical services.

The medical center is operating as a tertiary hospital, DOH accredited level 3 of multispecialty training.

Department of Internal Medicine

Accredited Residency Training Program

The Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Medical Center’s Department of Internal Medicine is already on its 3-Year Fully Accreditation Status with the Philippine College of Physicians (PCP) for its InternaI Medicine Residency Training. There are currently nine (9) residents in training who go on 24 hours duty to attend to the patient’s needs and supervised by trained specialists who are diplomates and fellows of PCP.

Dr. Eden B. Castillo served as the first chairman of the OLMCMC Department of Internal Medicine. She recruited board certified internist to join her medical staff. On 2021, the chairmanship of the Department was taken over by Dr. Edgardo Tiglao Jr., being supported by the training officer Dr. Marc Angelo Hizon, the training core committee and section heads.
