The Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Medical Center’s Department of Internal Medicine is already on its 3-Year Fully Accreditation Status with the Philippine College of Physicians (PCP) for its InternaI Medicine Residency Training. The department already produced 2 board certified internist who took their certifyng examination last March 2023. There are currently nine (9) residents in training who go on 24 hours duty to attend to the patient’s needs and are supervised by trained specialists who are diplomates and fellows of PCP.

Dr. Eden B. Castillo served as the first chairman of the OLMCMC Department of Internal Medicine. She recruited board certified internist to join her medical staff. On 2021, the chairmanship of the Department was taken over by Dr. Edgardo Tiglao Jr., being supported by the training officer Dr. Marc Angelo Hizon, the training core committee and section heads.

The Dialysis unit of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Medical Center provides quality renal replacement therapy to out-patients and/or in-patients with acute and chronic disease. The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is highly specialized care, and the most advanced pediatric treatment, in a gentle nurturing environment and provides 24-hour service. It accepts 37 weeks gestation or less to turn infants requiring Level II and Level III specialized care. The NICU family provides a family-centered approach to care; encompassing the parents and sick infants as a single unit. Thus including the family in all decision making and kept well informed and have complete understanding of all patient care activities and procedures.
